Dear Friends,
What a night – a historic victory in the fight for a stronger Sierra College, and I can’t thank you enough for being a part of it. We never could have done this without you.
I just released the following statement to the media:
If there was one thing that voters knew about me, it was that I’ve stood strong for balanced budgets, fiscal responsibility and increasing access to college. I am humbled and honored to have earned the trust and support of the public to serve for another four years as their Sierra College Trustee.
To those whose vote I did not earn, I ask for the chance to earn your trust for the next four years, and pledge to represent you with equal fervor as those who were my supporters. And to my opponents, I reach out my hand and say, there is no time like the present to start working together for the good of Sierra College.
Now, we have a lot of work to do. We must invest more in online education, expand student services to make college more convenient for working people, and give every one of our high school students the chance to take their first steps into college before they leave high school.
It’s going to be a great four years for Sierra College.
Just a word about Dennis Cota. I’ve never met a man from outside of the political process more genuinely enthused about serving his community than Dennis. It’s unfortunate that he didn’t have the resources to launch a full-scale campaign to take his message to more than a fraction of the 260,000 voters in our district. To top it off, his opponent ran an unfortunate campaign marked by both negativity and outright misrepresentation, and sadly, it worked.
Dennis ran a great race, and I predict we haven’t seen the last of this dedicated community servant. He will forever have my deep respect for choosing to be, in Teddy Roosevelt’s words, a “man in the arena.”
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your help and support. You helped us win a great victory tonight – not just for me personally, but for a stronger Sierra College.
And for that, I’m eternally grateful.
Aaron
Congratulations Aaron!!!!!
And Praise God for keeping you in!!
God bless, Melees
